I am looking to use a MLS turbo gasket with my holset because I heard they were better. I found this on RRE:

The MLS one says to use a sealing ring but do I need one with a fp mani and holset? there is no lip.

"The factory 7cm gaskets gets used when the unported 16G, Big 16G or EVO 3 16G is used along with an EVO 3 exhaust manifold that is also unported. It gets used in conjunction with a factory sealing ring for the 7cm exhaust housings.

The thick one piece 7cm gasket gets used with a turbo (14b or 16g based) that has been ported and is not using a sealing ring."

Since I don't have a step in my manifold or turbo could I still use the mls gasket or should I use the thicker 1 piece?

What were you recommended to use and what were you told to stay away from...

Haha thats what the problem is.

I know I was told to use a MlS from the people on here (like you) but I don't have a step in either the turbo or manifold (for the ring) which RRE recommends to use with it. They make it seem if you don't have the step use the other one.

What do we tell you to use? Why did we tell you not to use a solid gasket?

You said to use the MLS because the others warp and crack etc. That all makes sense, but RRE is saying the single layered one has a thicker border and since the step is basically ported away (not having one) it would give more support from blowing out.
