Can't post in anything anywhere else cept here since i'm a new member, so if this is in the wrong spot I apologize

To start off car is a 98 eclipse GS auto my second DSM.

The issue. Overdrive "OD" pigtail issue.

Previous owner removed the overdrive wire coming from inside the sifter, to the wire harness inside the center console. :banghead:

I removed the center console, found the connector where the OD pigtail should plug in. It has a total of 6 pin spots, the top row has 4 pins, the far right pin is blank. The bottom row has 2 pins.

When I put a lead between pin 1 and 3 top row i get the OD off light to appear on the dash. So i'm assuming I found one of the three wires.

If I splice into that lead with another lead and attach it to pin 2 on the bottom row, the OD light seems to go out, can see it faintly, but overdrive does not engage at speed.

Before buying another shifter and wasting money, I want to get the over drive to work, if the switch don't do it, then it's a clutch pack I should be looking at.

If someone could help me by telling me which wires attach to the red, yellow, black wires of the OD.

I attached a picture to give a visual aid. Any help is very much appreciated.

I was tinkering with it, read a few threads, searched up and down this site, google, google images ect, no luck, time to ask for help!

Your numbering system isn't correct with the manual (I'll use yours however) but the O/D switch common pole wire (which is ignition switch) is what you call your top pin 1 (blue w/red marking wire {aka blue-red}). The O/D off position is your top pin 3 (red-green). The O/D on position is your top pin 2 (orange-black).

So O/D off connects top pin 1 to top pin 3. O/D on connects top pin 1 to top pin 2.

The other 2 wires are for the select lever illumination light. Bottom pin 1 (green-white) is taillight relay power. Bottom pin 2 (black-yellow) is dimmer switch (light intensity control).
