Cannot find the connector that goes to this. It is really the only thing that is holding me back from starting my car. At first I thought it might have been the CAS but this car is a 1995 eagle talon tsi. The head is not the original head from my car, but it is a 2g head. posted in another forum already but no feedback yet. Hoping you guys could help

Thanks

That's the idle air control. At idle the throttle plate is completely closed and that has a valve controlled by the ecu to allow air to pass through it into the intake manifold. The plug is on the engine harness somewhere nearby.

Not sure what it is. Probably a cam angle sensor or something along those lines. I'm a 1g guy so I'm not extremely familiar with the electronics on a 2g. But if the connectors there it will most likely be coming out of the fuel injector harness somewhere.

No, thats a 2g CAS, its only a halfassed 1g CAS inside. You either need to take your cam gears off and put on the old system you had, or switch to a 1g CAS setup & wire it up.

Look up RRE's 6bolt swap info it should be in there.

What did this head come off of? 95-96 the CAS is under the intake cam gear, it is not on the back of the head like this one. Where is the head that came off the car? You need to pull the CAS off the front and the block off on the back and take that off.

he is right that head is off a 97-99. you need to get the 6 bolt swap setup. the harness is &75 and a black top cas is usually about $50

u only need to worrie about pages 5-7 the rest doesnt really apply to you

correct, that is a cam angle sensor from a 97-99,the easier route is get a cam angle sensor for a 95-96 and bolt it to your head since you already have the plug on the harness side, all 2g heads have provisions for a 95-96 cam angle sensor.

I am almost positive you must take the cam gear off to install this sensor. If you aren't comfortable with timing your motor I would not recommend this route.

So what you guys are telling me is that this head is from a 97-99? But I own a 1995. The CAS I took a picture of, is the one that was on my original head. There was something connecting to it before, I just don't know where to look. Engine is a 7 bolt, and I'm not familiar with wiring and things like that. I just don;t get it. This is for sure a CAS and not an IAC?

This picture is taking a picture of the intake camshaft on the far end not by the gear the oppisite side. If that helps at all.

yes it is for sure a cas.

Do you feel comfortable with making three simple wiring connections if you have thorough directions?

ok i will see if i can get something together for you. You will need the pigtail for the CAS off a 97-99 car, that is the harness that plugs into the sensor. You should be able to find one at a junkyard no problem. You may also need some extra wire to extend the harness.

That's weird, ever since i bought my car 2 years ago the same thing on my engine is not hooked up. It's drove fine without it. I can't seem to find the hookup for it either.
