Ok ,I read all the past posts on the misfiring 1.8, I pulled my plugs, gapped them , and new wires, the scenario is , only one plug was oil fouled, # 4 , the same end of the engine that is leaking oil from the headgasket, I believe(just replaced valve cover gasket 6 mos ago) The engine only recently started burning oil bady (But not uncle Buck badly). So my reasoning is the headgasket is the next great adventure to delve into. If I'm wrong please tell me, and thank you all for your help thus far.

try doing a compression test that will tell you how bad your headgasket is leaking, either way the headgasket should be replaced, but idk if that will cause the missing, prolly is if the compression is way below normal.. does the car blow any smoke out the exhaust? i'd definatly do a compression check.. pm me if you need help replacing the headgasket ;)
