miss shift

Today i was cruising, I got on it and I ended up miss shifting from 3-4th, instead of going from third to forth I ended up missing and got into second. I know I know, how do I miss that, its straight down. But it happens i guess. When I accidently shifted to second the RPM's got upto around 8k-8.3k tops!!! I caught myself before it went any higher. Do you guys think it hurt the tranny or motor?

I think you're fine. IT'd be making way more of a racket if something was busted.

I did that several times,the last time it happened,my timing belt skipped and i took out 8valves and busted all the guides.You're lucky.

yeah ive been there also went for third got first that sucked yeah i know that should be impossible. i had no problems with my motor due to the missed shifts there were a few you should be fine youd really know if you had a prob from it

Happened to me in 2004. I was in 3rd gear redlining, tried to shift to 4th but it fell in 2nd..ended up bending all my valves..luckily pistons were fine..a few weeks later the bottom end went out.

That really sucks. I think I got lucky for this one time. Car seems to run good so far. Hopefully nothing happens.

I remember when that happened. Good thing it really didn't hurt the car.
