miss/fuel cut????? cuts out full throttle around sharp turns too???

Alright this just started today. My tune has been fine for a while on 20 lbs all the way thru all the gears. I decided to mess around with a evo today and put it on 20 and then in 3rd i hit about 5000 rpm and it just poped then went on with its mary way. i havent changed a thing on my tune. Now it does it at 15lbs too. And in 4th on 10lbs even itll do it . Whats going on?? I get 1 count of knock each time but it just seriously started less than 5 hours ago?? Help please....

now it cuts out around turns on full throttle any ideas.. think its spark related??

well i went out and played with the fuel settings on the safc richen it up and what not and my voltage didnt change. It started to sputter so i backed it off but i still have the problem???

fuel supply is fine i think its a spark issue. I think i need new plugs and wires. Dont know how new they are. Should i run the brp7es or the 6es for this colder weather over here.
 
Same issue here. I'm trying wires to remedy the problem. My old ACCEL 8mm Thundersport 300+ wires are, well.. old. 5 years to be exact. They were the first "mod" I performed on my car.
I'm awaiting my new set. I went with the NGK premiums this time. Post back with your results after you get some new wires. Also, at 20psi I'd just keep using the 7es plugs.
 
yea my gas was kind of low so ill find out today. First snow hit this morning it is fun on 10 lbs now. ha
 
Mine did the same thing the other day. I turned off my street and had to get on it to get into traffic. It sputter and popped at about 5k and up on first, second, and third. It still pulled decent though. I was pissed as it sounded like a fricken F&F POS. My car is mostly stock, but I do have fairly new plugs and wires on it. Hopefully my logger will be here today so I can try to see what is going on. With the snow I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get it to go anywhere at a decent speed.
 
well i got new wires and the plugs seem fine so im going to get a new coil soon it kinda studders when going down the road at about 25 to 35 rpms kinda like it just limps for a second but it seems fine when on 10 lbs now but idk itll take a while first i gotta try 20 lbs with the new wires but theres snow and ice here so i just dont wanna die ha
 
alriht got it fixed the maft was set too high on the wot setting. Leaned it out a bit and works awesome now... just need the clutch now:D
 
Glad you got this figured out. That can't be my problem since I don't have a MAFT. I think I may be hitting fuel cut as I noticed I when it did it the other day it looked like I was at 14lbs of boost. My car is stock except for the exhaust. I'm guessing between the exhaust and the cold air it is just boosting more. I have a MBC I need to put on, but I'm not sure if that will really fix the problem or if I will just have to adjust it more.
 
Why did you even mess with the maft ? I would have just left everything zerod out and only tune with the safc.
That's the way i'm doing it.
 
how well is that working for u. U never used the maft at all?? u just hav e it there so u can have an open bov?? I might try that later. because if i set it on zero itll throw to much fuel in and sputter out and what not causeing the backfire. I just am a lil scared running it to lean with the safc by accident. I need to get a wideband. Someone can get me one for xmas. :D
 
Ahhh...there is the problem. You are going to have to get a wideband before you can tune it. A wideband is always the first thing you buy when you are moding anything that will require tuning. I'm saving my pennies right now for one so I can start doing some good upgrades.
 
yea i am going to get 2 of them. One for the tsi and one for my firebird. The tsi came the way it is now so i the mods werent up to me but im doing some guess9ing with the logger and i seem to have gotten it pretty decent but it could deffiantly be better
