hey guys im having amissfire issue with my tsi its a 95 awd 6 bolt swap car has 62,xxxmiles on the body i use safc for tuning. here's the problem
the car missfires bad at idle and throughout the gears.
two cylinders are not getting spark.
i changed the coil for the two cylinders not getting spark and it didnt help
my scan tool gave me a code p0443 evap emission control system purge valve c fault i dont know what that is. can this cause a missfire
the low coolant light is now lighting up once in a while, its at the correct level.
the car was driving fine and it started to miss fire a little for a min and then be fine for a while and do it again.
also can a coolant sensor cause a missfire.
did i mention it bearly moves
someone please help me i need my car for school i can answer more question

someone said it might be a cam angle sensor is there a way to test it and or where can i buy one. idk if i said this but i started to notice a problem two days after i washed under the hood of my car i was very carefull and didnt start the car until the next day if that helps. please ask me anything about it i will answer quick. i cant miss anymore school please help. can it be a egr valve?

Well, I'm the one who told you it was your cam angle sensor (CAS) and since you've got a 6-bolt swap in your '95 you can test it pretty easily. Since you just included that piece of info that you just washed under the hood and its doing it intermittently I would check the wiring going to the CAS first.

When you do a 6-bolt swap in a 2g you've got to wire in the CAS like this, since 6-bolt motors don't have a crank position sensor (CPS) like a 2g.

Was the car misfiring/idling poorly before you washed under the hood or is this all happening since you cleaned under there?

no it wasnt ran great.

i washed it a week ago and drove it the last five days it started to miss just a little and more everyday until now, but it drove fine two days after washing. its almost like the car is in limp mode. im going to tripple check the wires and go over a few more things im going to work on it through the night. is there a way to test the cas? and would the cel code p0443 be causing a missfire or is that just another prob. evap emission control system purge valve c fault? thanks for helping

ok so i think i found the problem. i found this chip thing full of water :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: so i dried it off and letting it dry now. the car wont start with it unpluged it turns over just no fire so i think its somewhat important and most likely the reason for missfire. it was by the egr valve just hangin.idk what it is or where to buy a new one?????
ill try and upload a pic.
the chip reads it about 2x2in

Here it is, dry that thing off and hopefully your problem disappears. Ignition Power Transistor It was probably just hanging there because when you do the 6-bolt swap on a 2g its hard to find a place to mount all the ignition stuff unless you make a custom bracket for it.

The CEL your getting for the EGR is just emissions, it wouldn't effect how your car runs unless a vacuum line came off of it and you've got a vacuum leak somewhere. The EGR valve is attached to the back of the intake manifold, and the vacuum lines run to the solenoids mounted to the firewall behind your IM and TB.

Im sure if you post a WTB add on some local threads (WiDSM, Chitown DSM) you could have one by tonight.

Ill ask my friend if hes going to part that motor out. Its from a 95 tsi
