So i have a 97 GS-T spyder(5-speed) that i got a few months back, put about 8k miles on it so far with no trouble at all...
well that changed last night. i was driving it home, i cut the engine off on accident while i was driving so i just turned the key and let the clutch out(5th gear going 30mph if it makes a difference) car started back up and down-shifted fine. Once i got to the hill at the entrance to my neighborhood everything changed i had it the revs at 2k to go up the hill, the car hesitated and shuttered. so i stopped and listened to the idle, sounded fine, took it for a drive and no matter what, as soon as i gave it boost it would start shuddering really hard. It felt exactly like when you try to start off on a hill and don't give enough gas. Anyway so i tried getting on it to see what happened, and it would build revs slowly but it also never stopped shuttering, as the revs got higher the smoother the shutter would get but it was still there. so i unhooked the battery when i got home left it that way over night, in the morning i hooked it back up idled high(since it was cold)then as soon as the revs started to drop i heard the hesitations in the exhaust every few seconds sometimes it would last about half a second. too kit to autozone and it threw a misfire in cylinder 1 code.

Not sure which system in the car is causing the problem, called the local dealer to see how much checking the timing would be, his response was "i uh... i dont know if my guys have ever checked the timing or whatever, it must be something else."
so going to the dealer is out the window.

Please help if you can!

thanks, marcus

I would pull the plug wire off the number one cylinder. If the car does not hesitate worse then I would look at the spark plug, wire, ... anything to do with spark. If the car gets worse I would test your injector.
