Minor garage cleaning and TedSpec services-Roll bar/cage, tuning, minor welding.

Fixed this little gem for KillaDSM yesterday. Meth injection backfire looks like the reason for the carnage. The seams were split almost everywhere except the top. So I went over almost all of the welds at least twice to "settle" things on the JMF manifold.

Regardless some finessing with a hammer, press, and heat got it back to normal.

Special thanks to Triz for combining the photos.

Does he plan to continue running the Meth no access to E85?

Reminds of the good ole days of N20 puddling backfires LOL!

LOL I'll let him tell the story about the E85 plan. Its like these cars know when the build is gonna change.

Actually that was going to be the very last pull on 91 and meth. Since the next day I was going to drive down to have Ted weld some AN fittings on my rail and sending unit so I could run my -8an fuel setup. But for some reason after running the car on meth for years without issues it decides to do that... I guess the meth wanted to go out with a bang... A perfect way to tell me to switch to e85.

So I have to thank Ted even with the change in plan, he saved the day. Now I'm back to dd'ing the car. But this time I've deactivating the meth until I have time to drive back down for another appointment at TedSpec. :thumb:

On a side note, I'm not a professional welder or anything. But for some reason it doesn't look like the welds penetrated the aluminum. Hum... Either way its stronger now thanks to Ted.

I only see one vband flange in the picture  Did you want me to weld a vband on the turbine inlet? Not sure if thats even possible. But for what I see in the pic, I can and have done that, no problem. $80

I have a personal stock of hose ends (new and used) and couple feet of SS fuel line that I can sell when nobody else has it locally. -4, -6, -8, -10. Shoot me a PM and I'll get back to you quickly.

Also have a fresh stock of AN bungs in steel and aluminum. -6, -8 and -10. I can do your valve covers no problem. This requires removal of your stock baffles and I weld a small plate to "Shield" the back of the bung from excess oil. This keeps the catch can from filling up right away.

Next project I will be working on in a couple of weeks will be catch cans with specific mounting points under the hood for 1Gs, 2Gs and G-VR4s.

Really happy with the way you got her running - just gotta get some bigger injectors & I'll be hitting you up again for sure (anyone with 1000cc+ injectors for sale please pm me!).

Only complaint I have is where's my stickers??

Thanks again man!

I'm still at it bump.

hey ted do you have an "hourly rate" for welding? I started welding some stuff for my conquest but don't have access to my welder anymore/I wasn't that good to begin with. Just wondering what some things will cost me. Specifically the first thing I would want done is my aluminum catch can I started making. I'd say it would take me just under an hour to finish it but you can probably do it faster.

Next would be a valve cover mod. Haven't decided exactly what I want for that one yet though.

I don't do hourly, I do price per job. Believe me, its a bit more reasonable.

If you want to bring by whatever you got, I can give you an estimate. If you like my prices I can do it right there on the spot for you.

I can't seem to find your email, I figured sending you pictures would be easier since your a bit of a drive from me. Do you mind if you give me your email? I cleaned out one spot in my PM box so hopefully no one PM's me before you.

Still here!

Projects going on right now.
600hp GVR4 complete build
GVR4 clutch job (ACT/Comp 4puck sprung hub) and transmission swap.
1GA Auto Panda
My 1G somewhere in there between waiting on parts.

I am a dealer for ECMLink. If you'd like to receive a discount on tuning, purchase your link through me at the advertised price on www.ecmlink.com

PM me so we can arrange a spot for any work or tuning. Thank you to those keeping questions to PMs. I really appreciate it, and it allows a thorough answer typing on the keyboard.

Ted
