Alright, heres the challnege.

What is the best lap time you can get on midfield raceway with a non race car? THis has to be a car which has been modified from stock. THeres no way to cut corners on this track so there shouldnt be any drama. Track run is on normal (forward) setting. Anything but premade racecars allowed. My best was 1:01xxxx with my friends viper. What can you do?! :thumb:

cmon all you scardy cats, simples rules, no way to cheat, try and beat my time!

1.01.898 with a Ford GT-838hp. I tried about 5 times and that is the best i could do. I bet your Viper has over 1000hp, so i think it is actually pretty even. :talon:

thats wicked, all i know the gt for is crazy understeer, how did you fix that, oh wait, they tend to go sideways when u smash teh gas with that 800+ hp, unless it has fatass tires like the gt or viper

I did a little suspension stuff, just lowered, -3* front camber -2* rear camber, soft race tires, stuff like that. It was hard to get that time, cause the car is SO twitchy. Fun as hell though!

I tried my Caddy Cien w/1023hp and soft tires, but couldn't even match the Ford's time.

I started a trial mountain thread way before this one. Problem is, I always cut thorugh the grass at the end, which netted me liek a 1:15 in my 599 hp rx7

I just ran a 1'01.879 in the '03 viper SRT-10 convertible with TCS at 4... I'm not used to that car though so I'm sure I could do better. So then I was curious what my formula one could do and within the first three laps I did 0'56.222.

ya the formula one kicks ass in that track, I took the s turn 3-4 at 180 there.

formula = race car = disqualified

i didn't get a chance to play this weekend, but my roommate managed a drift-style lap in a 550ish hp, 3rd gen rx7 @ 1:10.xxx. this is quite humorous, because i know i've hit 1:11.xxx in a 450ish hp 240sx after only a couple of laps.

how about a challenge to see what you can do without any driving aids? or challenges for non-race cars with non-racing tires?

New non-race car fast time i believe

'00 Vette ZO6

1.01.403

740hp or something w/ 50 n20

I can't believe i beat the GT with a car that has basically 50 less horsepower and crappier engine placement. For some reason, i feel like i can always get the vette fine tuned nice and easily? Mid or rear engine cars always seem twitchy?

I welcome a challenge.

0'59.987 Tommy Kaira ZZII '00, it's not a "production" car, but I don't consider it a race car either... So I guess I'll leave it up to the original poster of the challenge to decide.

Also, I just nailed 1'00.717 in the SRT10 '03 viper. It's power to weight isn't as good as the Tommy ZZII, but it's a production car so I went with it.

Edit: TCS was at 4 and all other Aids were set to 5.

GT4
2003 Viper SRT-10
Everything built to the max... was 1032hp after oil change.
Super Soft racing tires (I usually race with Medium, but I couldn't get this car to stop understeering...)
No nitrous
Driving aids all on 5

I didn't have this car, so this is the first time I drove it. After messing with the car settings a little bit, I got down to a 0'59.558 within about 8 or 9 laps or so (the picture says Lap 3, but I was messing with the suspension between runs, so it reset my laps).

As you can see in the pictures, I didn't use any nitrous.

now i'm really starting to feel some pressure to see how well i can do with a non-race car... i'm sure i can at least compete with your times. what i can't comprehend though: how can you guys use driving aids? that just destroys the driving
