Miami DSM Meet Thread

As of right now, the only thing we do know is the meet will be on the 31st of May.

I'll let you guys know exactly where sometime today or tomorrow.
 
The broward guys should all meet up in markham park as you all did and then after getting the whole group together drive down to tropical park where all of us miami dsm'ers will be waiting.
I think it's fair.
 
From the pics, the meet looked like it went well and I'm kinda surprised at the amount of dsms in the miami dsm scene. Brian, your car looks amazing as usual.

I'm heading to Miami today to pick up a dsm so hopefully I'll show up at one of these meets in the near future. If anyone lives close to FIU South campus and will be available after 6pm today, PM me your number so I can possibly meet up. I'm gonna tow it up with the Navigator/U-Haul trailer and I'm not familiar with that area so it would be much appreciated.

I will likely not be able to make the May meet regardless of location.

I learned however that the AVCHD format video, if burned directly to a DVD-R disc WILL in fact play on a PlayStation3 blu-ray player directly. So those that want these let me know.

I'll get a batch to Chris to distribute at the next meet.

I'll need $1 for each disc as reimbursement. I can not fit this all on a single DVD.

DVD1 = still pics and all the .AVI format video
DVD2 = AVCHD format hi def video for playback only on Playstation3 OR a powerful PC

Is there any way you can put the video up on youtube just so we can see it? I realize you're busy and such, but if you got a chance, that'd be sweet! Not really worried about it being super-sick quality or nice editing, just a rough cut, something to watch to see what you got, you know...

I saw plenty of people with camera's, lets see some more pics guys LOL.

Hey guys,

I spoke with a couple of people already and for this months meet (31st) we're going to go ahead and meet up at Tropical Park. From there, once everyone is gathered and ready to roll we will have our DSM cruise to Key Biscayne or Miami Beach, which is a perfect place for pictures, videos, ect.
Should be a fun cruise.


If anybody has any DSM stuff to sell, feel free to bring it!
 
I think the miami beach cruise would be very nice, really nice scenery and all. It would really bring out the miami theme to the miami dsm group.
Anyone have opinions, suggestions on this ?

Guess not so far. I'm onboard for the miami beach cruise after the meet at tropical park.
 
Its Either Miami Beach Or Key Biscayne. Im Actually More Down For Key Biscayne Because Of The Spot AND Because Of The Heat. Those Miami Beach Cops Are Dicks!!

At Key Biscayne We Can Actually All Park In The Sand And All That And Take Really Nice Pics :thumb: And Plus The Way Out There Is Pretty Straight. Going Over The Bridge And All Would Make For Very Good Video Footage! :D

Key Biscayne sounds much better. Miami PD are dicks like you mentioned. I got a ticket for "Improper Start" when I the only thing I did was rev my engine to get the dumb asses out of the street (horn didn't work at the time). Got court date this 27.
 
I may not make this meet but I too like Key Biscayne.

There is a toll at the beginning of the Rickenbacker causeway though and I think its like $2 or $3 (only on the way in, no toll coming out). Right after paying the toll we'll have to pull off to the right to wait for everyone else to clear it so we all go over the tall bridge at the same time.

Two potential places to actually park once on Key Biscayne, either the beach area just before the Miami Seaquarium OR just after the Bear Cut Bridge (thats the bridge just after the Seaquarium) on the right where the boat ramp, charter boats & marina are (where Sunday;s on the bay used to be before it was demolished).

An LEO warning to those not familiar with Key Biscayne: Once you go PAST the boat launch ramp just after the Seaquarium, at that point you are technically in the jurisdiction of the Village of Key Biscayne. Those cops are perhaps the strictest of all regarding speeding, noise, etc. So long as you don't go beyond the boat ramp its "regular" LEO, I think City of Miami and Miami-Dade PD share that section.
