I have done a little research into meth injection and had some questions.

First of all, I have 660cc injectors, PTE scm 5031 on 16psi, walbro 255, ecmlink v3, 38mm wastegate, greddy 24v intercooler, FP 4" intake, and 3" exhaust. Im going to be turning the boost up to 18-20psi soon. Im on a stock evoIII block and 2g head.

I was wondering if it would be worth it to get meth injection at this point, and how much it will really help. This is on my current DD at the moment, so I dont want to risk blowing it up or breaking anything. I really dont know much at all about meth injection so any info at all would be appreciated.

what's the idea for using meth in you situation... you can do 20 psi easily without the meth with you setup, in terms of your engine not knocking. Most people use it suppress knock for bigger turbos and somewhere around 25 psi (on pump).

edit: sorry i saw evo3 and i thought thats the turbo you were running . so nvm, meth would be helpful

Meth would help but really not needed on a good tune. You can do other cheaper ways to lower iats.

What is your horsepower goal. You may or may not need meth injection. You mentioned a boost that you want to run. But why? Run as much boost as it takes to meet your goal.

But I assure you if you want to see the potential or even just 80%IDC 650s on pump gas with your setup, then you will need it.

it would help . but to run 20psi you dont need it. do you have an AFPR?
Yes i do, i forgot to mention that.

Im looking for around 350awhp. Dont know if I will hit it with 20psi though. Im going to be buying bigger injectors next most likely, around 1100's or higher, so I can run e85. The car is my DD right now, so I dont want to run too high psi because im afraid it will be more likely to blow something up.

I really dont know much about meth and what it does, besides helping to eliminate knock. I have heard of a lot of people getting good numbers with it, and it seemed like a decently cheap way to gain some power without sacrificing the reliability or needing some sort of supporting mods.

IMO you don't necessarily need to be running high boost etc. to see the benefits of meths in terms of knock reduction.

It will allow you to advance the ignition timing at any boost level to get closer to the optimum timing settings.

Even when running a std Evo3 16g turbo on 20psi, you can get the engine to knock by advancing the timing too much. Add in meths (or run E85) and you can see power gains because you can usually add an extra 2 or 3 degrees of timing as a minimum.

Take a look at my post on calculating the proper water/meth you'll need to inject. It's precise when injection doesn't need to be that precise, but It will guarantee that you have enough flow and knock resistance for your goal. Click.
