Rickshaw,
i just got one off ebay for a cheap deal. i tried putting it on my talon tonight and failed to do so.

how do you put the damn nuts back on? is there even enough space? and anyone had trouble attaching to a cat back? the stock catback flange is so angled, won't even fit near the 3" dp because the MR dp is almost horizontal.

anyone had troubles? i've read so many posts that they fit on nicely.

i must have either gotten the new one or old one. i'm not sure which is which.

i measured it at 2 3/4' at o2 housing, and tapers out to 3" and doesn't not taper back down at the cat flange. i've seen pictures where the taper is actually welded. i've gotten one that is not a welded taper, but an actually tapered piping. but it does not fit. nice piece, and welds.

maybe i'll get apexi WS and get the cat-back flange rewelded to fit the dp?

Im in the same boat as you bro. The megan's flange was like 90 degrees off and bigger, so im just gonna have a muffler shop make my custom cat-back match the megan dp, but i dunno what to do with my stock when i want to put it back for emission since im changing it to 3". i wonder if i could just weld in a 3" flange on the cat to match it up. is that possible? :dsm:

I ran one, and welded it up to a 3" home made cat-back. I am not sure if it was supposed to be direct replacement for the factory one or not, but you can't expect every downpipe to work with every aftermarket exhaust, either.

And, for the bolts on the O2 housing, I had to use an open-ended wrench. I couldn't get a socket in there.

i bolted my MR dp straight to a punishment racing tubular o2 housing. Took it to an exhaust shop and had them make a slip-fit joint for me to attach it to my 3" cat-back. E-z as cake total cost including cat-back was about 450$ 3" t304 polished stainless steel from the o2 housing to the muffler tip.

The megan racing DP is actually for cat-less use..I had my friend cut and weld it to the cat. Seems to work just fine.

yes, its a cat eliminating pipe. anyone else have the different version?
with welded tapers? i just wanted to know which one acutally fitted.

I had the same problem.... The I got an exhaust leak at the 02 housing. So, when I ordered my turbo. I needed a 3" 02. So I got the EvoIII Big16G and EvoIII 02 Housing. Bolts up fine. Now I found this nice CatBack. And I noticed it came with and Adapter to go from 2.5 to 3". and the section I had to have cut and welded was about the same size. So I bought this cheap, but nice Exhuast of Ebay from SSAutoChrome.com (GOOD STUFF). I like all there products. This exhaust sounds sooo nice... and goes nice as a Cheap Package. $150 on DP and $277 on 3"CatBack... I won the bid, so they are noramlly $350. Still a cheap system. I only have a problem now getting around my transfer case without hit the transfer case and causing knock. I also need to fix an exhaust leak with SLIT Bolt holes on the flanges.

GOodLuck!
