I have a stock 2g.... with just an FMIC upgrade (stock intercooler was bad, decided to upgrade)

a buddy is selling his megan racing downpipe.... I know it fits the 2g that it came off of... but my main concern is:

when I upgrade turbos, will this downpipe work/bolt up?

no experience here... any advice is appreciated!

Depends if you decide to stick to a mitsu o2 housing or not. YOu have to stick with a mitsu hotside..

I have that down pipe still on my stock turbo. Its a nice downpipe. But like viperlp01 said, you gotta stick with a mitsu style hot side and O2 housing (or you will have to have an o2 housing made to fit pipe).

But remember, the Megan downpipe removes your cat, so if you live somwhere that is strict on emissions, I would not recommend it.

From what i understand and i have the megan racing downpipe, mr. test pipe and a thermal muffer, if you are going to start changing out exhaust features you better be ready to buy it all because lots of parts dont bolt together because of different pipe sizes. i had to have my 3" cat back modified to work with the 3" MR test pipe. 75 bucks at the local exhaust shop

Which version of the 2G AWD down pipe are we talking about?

Better check to see if it's the old one with the flange issues.

I bought the old version when it first came out and have had a horrible time with it. First, the pipe was too large where the flange is that connects to the O2 housing in order to fit over the bolts on the stock O2 housing, so I bought a tubular O2 housing with a 3" flange for the down pipe. Once that was done, I found out that the rear flange that connects to the cat-back was clocked incorrectly and would not mate up.

Not too long after they first hit the market, MR discovered their mistakes and corrected them by necking down the down pipe near the O2 housing flange to stock diameter, and then also began offering a small section of pipe with the flanges aligned to mate the downpipe to a stock flange orientation cat-back. I have contacted vendors about the new section of pipe, but nobody will sell just this piece, so I'm stuck either making my own or cutting and rewelding the stainless pipe to correctly clock the rear flange.

check out these pics of the differences

Not to hijack, but here's the piece I'm in need of, if anyone reading this can help me out:
