I just orderd, a Megan Downpipe. It is listed as a 3" but I am wondering if it will work well with a 2.5" catback I already have on the cat. I feel like the size drop from 3" to 2.5" will have a negative effect on the turbo. Guys please let me know before I spend a bunch of money on a set up I may have to change.

The Megan is a cat eliminator DP. It further necks down to 2.5" at the end. Yes you can still bolt a cat to the end "barely" reach the rear O2 with the O2 sensor in the stock wiring.

However, what I did was cut the DP where the stock Cat location is. Flanged it for 3" by welding a 3" flange to the cut end then bolted a cat to it. Problem solved.

Yes I kept a restrictive 3" high flow cat in line because 1 it helps to reduce noise (actually added 2 resonators aswell) and because I have a sense of environmentalism in me.

cool just got my down pipe today so ill be installing that with the 3in megan catback. My DP though didnt neck down at all it is 2.75'' at the O2 house and hits 3 after the flex section and stays 3in all the way back.

my MG DP is 3" after the flex all the way back, cant i just cut the 3" flange off the downpipe at the end, hack a bit of the pipe off and put in the cat? (i will also be using a 3" highflow cat)

im gonna have no resonators once i get my catback, is it too loud?
