Measuring Valve Spring Installed Height

What do you guys use to measure the installed height? I have a snap gauge set and am fairly certain it would work, is there another tool that is better for this measurement? Think I could get a dial caliper in there? Also does anybody know the installed height specs for BC Springs and retainers, or have a link to the spec sheet?

I doubt you will be accurate with either of the methods. Beacuse you will tilt the retainer up on the side you are trying to measure.

you need an Import spring height mic, about $120 from a machine shop supplier

the BC1100 spring install at the factory height

Makes sense, so I need something like this: Powerhouse: Spring Height Micrometer 1.400" to 1.800"

yes that design ( the middle one) but the ones there are to bukly to be used in a 4G head they are over 1.5 dia....
