I have had a ticking coming from around my timing belt cover for a while. I haven't really looked at it though because i've been busy. The ticking noise isn't that load, and you can only hear it after the engine warms up but when i rev the engine and the turbo kicks in the ticking stops. I had my father look at it, and he thinks it might be a bent push rod. I'm having my uncle look at it soon. But does this sound like it is a bent rod. If so can someone please give me an estimate on what it would cost.

Thanks

WTF yes we have DUAL OVER HEAD CAMS (DOHC). Push rods are founds on motors with the cam shaft in the bottom of the V configuration. That tick is the lifter it is common for 4G63 engine. If you want to get rid of it get some revised lifters from a 4G64 3gen eclipse :dsm:

Damn.. and to think that I missed the "pushrod mod"

If it was a 2g, I'd say check the rest of the motor out for signs of crank walk, but you've got a 1G, so n/m. Live with the ticking..

Yeah sorry about the push rod thing, i wasn't thinking. I just have to refresh my dad on terms with my motor. so i'll check the manifolds and for an exhaust leak. If it is the lifter's i will probably go with the 3g lifters. Thanks guys

it's 1 of 4 things...

1. lifter tick... welcome to the 4g63
2. Fuel injectors being noisey
3. piston snappers
4. spun muffler bearing

actually, maybe it's only 1 of 2 things... :thumb:

grab the moded lifters they are great :thumb: i think mine were 120$ comes in a box o
