A few days ago my car has been having trouble shifting. I can't shift into first or reverse even at a complete stop... the car must be off to do these. When I start the car in first even with the clutch pedal fully depressed the car moves. I checked the adjustment rod on the master cylinder and it is all the way out. I'm not losing any fluid in the resovoir but my master cylinder does have a little fluid leaking from the rubber boot... could this be enough to make my clutch not disegage? Could it also be the slave cylinder? I installed a SS clutch line a few months ago and blead the system... the slave leaked a little bit during that but I haven't lost any fluid since then. Any help would be greatly appreciated, starting off in second sucks :(

Also... could it be a loose flywheel? When I installed my ACT2600 a few months ago I made sure it was torqued to spec and used loctite.

check your shift linkage we had a taln come into the shop and it had the same problem wouldent go into 1st and reverse and the shift linkage check the bolts on the tranney u should be able to see um from the top :thumbdown

The master cylinder or slave cylinder could be causing this, bleed the system to see if that works. If not check under the boot of the slave cylinder for fluid. You may have to replace it or the master or both, I had to do both $ :($ . Also bleed the slave cylinder at the line, do this by cracking the line loose insted of the bleeder screw(this is after you allready did the normal bleeding process). I had air traped in there that would not come out any other way.

The slave is very easy. The master is a little harder because you have to get up under the dash to unbolt the acctuator rod. But other than that it is two bolts and the line, faily straitforward.

i am having the same problem as this guy up top, how long does it take to replace the master cylinder? is this dangerous to do if i screw something up, i have neevr really worked on a car i was wondering if this is soemthing i could do? would you guys recommend doing the slave cylinder at the same time ? i have been told its better to get them both done at same time

does it matter if i use the generic part from an auto store for eclipse that they have or should i get an oem mitsubishi part, i read that some non oem people have ahd problems with.
