My clutch was engaging super low and causing me to grind, so I went to do the rod adjustment and while I standing on my head, I realized that there is clutch fluid running down the upper part of my pedal, so I didn't do any adjusting and just re-locked the nut.

What is the problem here?

don't spend money to have your master cylinder replaced. it is a $40 part from napa ($90 from satan) and it takes about 30 mins to do (that was me, not knowing what i was doing)
Just curious... I tried calling my local NAPA here in western NC and they tell me they don't sell a rebuild KIT. They told me that they just sell a rebuilt master cylinder for $70 bucks and a brand new one for well over a $100 bucks. They also told me they don't keep it in stock either, and would have to order it. How did you get a rebuild KIT from them for $40 bucks? Thanks!!!

Go somewhere other than NAPA. Try AutoZone. I know they carry it. Plus, a rebuild kit is a lot cheaper than $40.00. I believe Autozone carries it for $22.99.

Nope! I just called the local Autozone and they claimed they had no rebuild Kit either, only the rebuilt master cylinder was available for $66 bucks with a core charge. When I talked with NAPA they told me that they don't make rebuild kits for newer model cars anymore, and mine is a 97 model year. I would tend to think that there wouldn't be to much of a difference in the master cylinders from year to year in our dsm's. I mean if that is indeed the case about the rebuild kits NOT being made for newer model cars anymore. So.... I guess I'm going to go ahead and just purchase one from Conicelli brand new and be done with it.

All the rebuild kit consists of is a new piston, boot, and clip. I wouldn't think there would be much difference at all between the different years. I wonder why they don't make rebuild kits for the newer models. That's odd. I looked at the Autozone site again and it listed the kit, but it had the little x to indicate that they didn't carry it in stock. If they sell rebuilt master cylinders then there has to be some sort of rebuild kit out there. I just checked with Kragen autoparts here in California and they do carry a rebuild kit for your model. Unfortunately, you don't have any of those where you are. They do make the rebuild kits for your vehicle, and they are ridiculously cheap. Kragen has it for $6.99. I also looked on NAPA's website and they do carry the rebuild kit for your vehicle for $13.49. The guy who told you they don't make rebuild kits for the newer vehicles is full of $hit. I'd get on the horn and call around to some other shops. If it can wait, you might even want to order it online.

I finally ordered the over haul kit from Conicelli for $31.79 shipped, so basically all of those dick heads at the local Autozones and NAPA's here where I live don't know there ass from a hole in the ground. Damn morons! Thanks for the help fellas!!!!

I went to the local Checker auto parts store and they actually had the rebuild kit in stock for me! It cost me $15 which is just fine, since it's still way cheaper than a whole new master cylinder from the dealer. Now we'll see if it's actually the correct parts when I take mine apart.
