the other day i put a different used but good MAS on my talon tsi to see if it would help a prob but it made a new prob. when i put it on the car started right up fine i started driving the car it seemed fine but then i stopped at a light and the idle was at 1000 how i like it then i fluttered from 1500 back down agian. then i got to my house shut off my car came back about a hour tried to start it and it wouldnt i had to put the old one back on and unplug the battery then it started. but when i stopped at a light it had the same prob. parked it at my house the next day had no prob starting. then this morning it wouldnt start agian had to unplug the battery agian. WTF?

well my tps is new and i dont think its my ics ### i fixed that prob not to long ago and it makes no difference if its plugged in or not.

checking for boost leaks always helps but try swapping mas sensors with someone. see what happens. im in the same exact situation.

i dont think the sensor would just randomly go bad like that. ok so the wiring that runs to the MAF plug it "T's" off and has another two prong plug in. where the hell doest that go it has always been unplugged

You can make sure the switch is working by doing a simple ohms test or by using a test light on it. But that switch tells the computer that the car is at closed throttle and the isc can take over an stable the idle. Either way its worth a shot. Are you recircing the bov?

ok so i know its not that ### when my car wants to start or does start i notice when i turn the key over so all the lights come on my stock boost guage goes up to zero then when it doesnt want to start it doesnt move at all and today unplugging the battery didnt do anything shitty......

:hmm: When was the last time you cracked open your ecu and checked the caps? I have had a few that did similar things. i replaced all of what i assumed was wrong. Ran good for a few days :hellyeah: 'YAAAAY then  they would act up again. I said screw it gloved up and took out the ecu on them cracked it open then looked right to where the caps are and :aha: roasted toasted and melted into a puddle of silicone cud. I had that happen twice and the one other time I had to clean the connections because they were covered in 16 years of crap. I have also had the vortex go bad but and produce similar issues. If you crack the ecu open and it looks fine buy a new/used vortex and see if that corrects the issue. You can locate the area where the caps are in the FAQ or by using the search tool above you. If you dont already know and stuff, I can only assume you do not check your ecu often .

Check that out and report back and let us know what you find. If the ecu is OE there is a chance it might have taken a dump on you. It wont hurt to crack it open and look. :tease: thats one of the first things I want to see before I buy a dsm, I don't care if the owner likes it or not I AM taking the ecu out and looking at it. LOL

ya i think its my ecu ### i opened it up looked at it seemed fine plugged it back in and it clicked kind of loud then the car started what does that mean?

It means you need to look at the area where the caps are more. Even a little bit of acid burn can create probs. If the caps are leaking send that thing off to have it worked on before the leaking caps FUBAR your ecu. Better to get it before it gets bad and the car leaves your butt on the side of the road in the middle of god knows where. :banghead: Thats never a good time.Unless it breaks in front of a strip club thats next door to a good shop. :rocks:

i honestly dont care who disagrees on here i know ive fried some electrical devises doing it dont just randomly unhook sesors while your battery is connected yes u can fry a sensor or as it sounds u have done your ecu unhook your battery and swap ecus with a friend and see how it acts if its good wa la fixed:banghead:
