I went to a Team Trinity meet this weekend and was a little disappointed with the DSM showing. TT put together a great meet, with many different cars, I was just expecting and little more substance in the DSM crowd.

In fear that the DSM community in or area is slowly dying, I would like to suggest a DSM meet and greet! I know that there are plenty of DSMer in the area, so how about we revive this community. I'd like to pitch a meet at the Dave and Busters in Rockville MD, sometime in early April.

Keep in mind that the point of a meet and greet, is to do just that, MEET AND GREET, no need to spin around the parking lot and please check your egos at the door. I don't mind doing much of the leg work, but I'd like to get a good crowd.

Any Takers???????

I agree with you. I was a little upset with the lack of DSM support (comparing to the years before) I dono if enough people didn't have their cars done in time or just didn't care about it. I know 4 of our team members could not make it and 2 of them could not get their cars there but still showed up to support.

The meet itself was good, but I'd like to get back to the days of lots of DSMs showing up.

I know I would show up and get get most or all of the TT guys to show up. I guess you just need to pick a date and get it out for people to start planning. I'd also check the local tracks and make sure there is nothing planed to messup what you are planning.

Good luck, let me know if you need any help.

You should just come back to Philly Alex. :D

:)

Chris I'm sure you can relate, as you've been to the "bigger" DSM meets with PhillyDSM.
I do miss the community! Unfortunately, I am too far to organize stuff up there :( .

im all about it. Though my car wouldnt be up by early april, id definatly show up. There is so much DSM knowledge in the area, its just a shame it doesnt always come out to support.

Id love to do a meet and greet, i think its a great idea.

How about this:

Sunday, April 8th (tentatively).
2pm-begins at Wheaton Regional Park (food, games, etc -Details to come)
6pm-caravan to Rockville Dave and Busters (second Level parking garage)

:)

EHhh...excuses. I used to drive a good 2-2.5 hours to get to a PhillyDSM meet. But I totally understand....as long as you make it up once in a while. ...dyno meet atleast.

It's not the driving distance, you forget that I make the 2 hour drive several times a month to tune at Philly Dyno Works. It's the whole scoping out of places and arranging stuff thats hard. I haven't lived in Philly for over 2 years, I forget where everything is.

I feel the EXACT same way, in fact I wrote something similar on 2GNT.

This was my first year to the GMU meet and from pictures of the past and stories I heard I expected a little more. Don't get me wrong, TT did a great job and it was fun, and beautiful weather. But I think there were more Evos that 2G DSMs... possibly even more BMWs as well! And even worse than the number that showed up was the fact that the majority of the 2Gs were off in the corner and only 2 or 3 had their hoods up. The 1Gs had a better showing and seemed more involved, but just in general from the Evos to the S2Ks to the WRXs it seemed like many of the other groups were showing off their cars more than the DSMs which were supposed to be the center of the show.

Ohh well better luck in the future. Had mine been running in time I would have definately had the hood popped out there all day. And I'd love to come to the meet and greet (I'm from Woodbridge VA - NOVA) but I'll be in school down in Blacksburg till May.

I would definitely be down so long as I'm not tied up with exams or work around that time. This was my second year going to GMU and as with the rest of you was very dissapointed with the DSM turnout compared to last year. I currently live in College Park as it is where I go to school but only live about 40 minutes away in Owings Mills. I know there are a bunch of other dsmers in the area including my brothers with their dsms so keep us informed.

You mean up where 'Cars' used to hang out? or nearby?. I come by every now and then but I never know when other eclipses are coming out to meet. I'm down right inside DC near friendship heights. I'm in the 'parts collection' stage (haha) and not much done yet, but I'd love to come out and meet the other demi-god :dsm: 'ers ;)

EDIT: truthfully, I didn't know there were any non-hondataish eclipse's around. I've only seen two or three nice eclipses locally, the rest are horrible! Today I saw a white 3g w/ dual mufflers which were probably 2 1/4 round and the tip had a welded in n/a (looked like a 1 3/4 dia.--you know on the old honda stock exhaust) baffle. to make things worse, the guy had a huge exhaust leak and revved around like he was pwning rush hour traffic ;P

EDIT #2: Anyone local up for helping me (sometime in the near-er future) install a large fmic, paint/install my b2 kit(i'll have the guns/compressor/etc).

Just let me know whats up!
Chris.

I'm definitely down...always look forward to hanging out w/ fellow anti-ricers :p

I'm glad to see this is picking up some steam! I'll start finalizing the details Of where exactly we will be meeting at Wheaton regional Park.

I like my brains, good thing i'm not a wisemen ;D :dsm:

kidding, its too nice outside for me to have to stay here at work. ;X
Chris

there are definatly a lot of DSM brains in the area. Many of them really dont come on this board, or any others for that matter, which is a shame but i cant say i blame them.

Thats wuz - up!:thumb: ... I live right around the D&B in rockville, so Ill try to make it and ill bring my ### as well.

Count me in. Ive been a honda guy for the last three years but I decided i needed a change. I just purchased a fully built 90 TSI and would love to meet up and get more info about DSM's.

Dude count me in. I may not have my car there, unless you come by and help me finish the damn thing, but I will be there this time :thumb:

I'll come help if you help me find a local shop w/ reputation for machining/P&P our heads nicely! Maybe even a vendor for some PT lifter/rocker/etc ;P

EDIT: by our heads... I really meant my head.. :DSM:

Ok, first I think that it would be an awesome idea to get some local guys together for a meet and greet (I am in Howard County and not too far from the whole DC area). And second, I would very highly recomend looking Jackson Auto Machine (located very close to Arundel Mills Mall) for any engine building or head work. They specialize in Dsm's and Evo's on the International level as well as V8's. They built my motor and I love it, and have also built motors for Extreme Motorsports. Check them out @ http://jacksonautomachine.com/. :thumb:

can count me in most likely... ive had dsm's for 4 years now but never really got into many meets ### i didnt have time or cash to put into my car until last summer... Trying to get some more on my resume ;P

Same here, but only for one year. I really need to get a new FR fender. Two days after I bought the car, I parked in S.E. DC (near nations) and when I came back, someone had ran into/crunched my fender and just left. ;X. It's ok, I'll put a new one one when I have my kit installed.
note: vfiber == fiberglass w/ much more difficult mounting/fitment. stay w/ urethane ;X
