Hello I own a 99 2.0 non-turbo automatic Eclipse. I got the car recently over the summer and I have fixed most of the minor issues with the car. The only major problem that is left is the auto transmission is having problems shifting and I would like to switch it out to a stick shift. How much effort would it take to swap the transmissions? Cost is not an issue.

If you're paying someone to do it, I would just sell the car and buy a dsm.. erm i mean a manual :p

If you're doing it yourself, it's not too difficult and I can give you some friends that'll help you with it.

Its not terribly difficult. You will need

NVT-350 manual transmission with shift arms
Speed sensor with gear (probably installed on transmission)
Speed sensor plug with 6" of wire
Reverse sensor
Reverse sensor plug with 6" of wire
Three quarts of MOPAR MS9417 transmission fluid (not shown)
Clutch/Pressure plate/Flywheel
TOB
Clutch fork
Drivers side trans mount
Rear roll stopper bracket
Shift cable bracket
Clutch slave cylinder
Flex line and clips
Lower hard line
Lower hard line bracket
Clutch master cylinder with nuts
Rubber line with clamp
Upper hard line
Bracket for upper hard line
clutch fluid reservoir with cap, bracket, and bolts
Clutch pedal assembly with spring and bolts
Clutch interlock switch
Clutch interlock plug with 6" of wire
Brake pedal assembly with spring and bolts
Brake light switch
Brake light plug with 6" of wire
Shifter assembly with bolts and rubber bushings
Shifter boot
Shift knob
Shift cables with bushings and clips
Rubber grommet and plate (through firewall)

Optional parts for a correct swap
Gauge cluster from M/T car
ECU from M/T car of same year (not shown)

As you can see, there are a lot of little miscellaneous parts that are needed. These tend to be the difficult ones to find.
