Manual Tranny Problem

OK, so in my car i have a short throw shifter. For some reason while im driving my shifter wont go into the gear i want, it happens randomly i can go for a week without it happening, then an entire day. Sometime i cant get it into first so i have to pull it into second and then push it straight into first then it works. Sometimes going from 2nd to 3rd it wont let me put it into 3rd, if i force the shifter it grinds, and i mean push extremely hard. Also ever since i bought the car the shifter is harder to mover then any other manual car ive driven. But if the car is off, the shifter is easy to move. My clutch pedal still has resistance. I just don't want to have to drop my tranny, any advice on what i should do? i don't know much about the trannys so any guides u might have, will help alot.

First things just to check.

Check if you have excessive play in your shifter assembly, i.e. the shifter base, cables, bushings, bracket on the transmission.

Make sure your clutch is properly bled and adjusted.

Lastly, the transmission is full of oil (no leaks)? What oil?
