I bought a radiator for my 1g GSX from a local shop, and it's got tranny cooling lines... now if i that guy had listened to what i told him, I wouldn't need cooling lines for an automatic transmission.. cause i have a manual. Anyway, I called the guy up and insulted him a few times while he looked up the part again, and he says that it's the right radiator. A guy I ran into said it shouldn't have the cooling lines if I have a manual tranny. So I figured I'll post here and find out. I mean; 1000 DSM tuners can't be wrong :) Someone tell me if he did give me the right radiator or if I need to drive a semi through his front door...

You can use an auto radiator on a manual car. Just block off the trans cooling ports.

Is it an aftermarket radiator? If so, some companies only make auto radiators in order to cut costs, since you can use an auto radiator on a manual vehicle.

The Mits dealer supposedly ruined my radiator before I got the car. The one in there now has the AT cooler inside it. The car doesn't seem to mind. I keep wondering if there's anything I could _use_ it for.... heater for the windshield washers or something bizarre.

I guess I'll just have to try it out and see if i overheat.. probably not, but i thought i'd get some opinions... might be useful tho.. was thinking about water cooling my smic... i am the mad scientist of fabrication! MUAHAHAHAH

Well, that'd be kind of bad, considering the water in the block is going to be much hotter than incoming air, (hopefully).

But yeah, that would be awesome.... like something to warm up the windshield washer fluid to de-ice the windshield like Defiant said!

my reason for that thought was cause I read someone talking about intercoolers getting heat soaked... and well, I tried to find more on heat soaking but figured it meant when the intercooler couldn't be cooled by incoming air, so I figured find someway to cool it

Yeah... a lot of people use intercooler sprayers, which just spray the outside of the IC with water to help with heat transfer to the air as the water evaporates (water evaporating absorbs heat, hence why you feel colder when you're wet.)
