So I'm putting in a boost controller, and I've heard manual is the way to go for reliability. I also want adjustability. I'd like to be able to run approx. 9-10psi for just run around city driving and I'd like to be able to run it up to about 16psi for late night street shenanigans with the pals. I know the basics on how a mbc works, but what I don't know is if they are adjustable from the drivers seat, instead of popping my hood to adjust the spring. If they are, perfect. If not, is there any way to make this possible? Which mbcs are the best? Running an Evo3-16G turbo with a greddy BOV and 40mm wastegate in a '99 GSX. Please help!

21 pages on boost controllers? Seriously. Just dont buy a bleed type. Thats all I would say. I also see no advantage in being able to turn boost down. In 20 years I've never turned it down. Only turned it up further. So once its set, its set. Why would you suddenly want less power at your fingertips? Just dont push throttle as much if you want to go slower. Maybe, just maybe the fwd guys see some reason for this.

i dont. i set it to 20 and left it, the hell with traction in 2nd and 3rd.

boost by gear sounds like a better option.

I'm not saying I want less power, but why run my engine at a higher psi and put more wear and tear on it if I have no need for it? I'm trying to be easy going on my girl and make her happy and hopefully keep her running strong.

Look here for a reputable MBC able to control boost from the driver seat : http://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/applic.html
Thanks much! For the pro model+cockpit adjuster is $225 and I know it's kind of high, but I'd like to make this a sleeper and I want her to stay running strong so I want high grade equipment and this looks like it. I'm not trying to say money is an issue, but If I could get something similar for a little less, that'd be great...

I use a voodoo MBC $20 off eBay. Its not adjustable from the cabin have pretty sensitive adjustability and is easy to lock into the boost you want. but I believe turbo xs makes a dual stage that's switchable from the cabin once you dial in both settings.

I have run Hallman and voodoo brand controllers. For the price just get a $20 voodoo controller off of eBay. Why would anyone need to manually control boost from the cockpit?

Yes, I understand that it will last, but that's just what I'd like to do because I don't need all that power to drive to wal mart or the 4G63shop

Then keep your foot at less than 40% throttle and shift earlier? i am confused.. you can have 1000hp on tap but only use 40 when puttering around town by being smart about ones right foot, all the while not having to pop the hood and mess with the mbc trying to get it turned in to where you last had it for the target boost level..
it's not as if these 2/2.2/2.3/2.4L have instant torque.

anyway you look at it, good luck

Hallman all the way. "High grade" and "cheap" don't go together. A simple knob isn't going to ruin the sleeper look, you can put it where ever you want anyway.
