Manifold to turbo gasket leaking

Would a bad enough leak from this gasket cause bad sputtering? I have checked for boost leaks. I'm leaking out of the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the turbo. When I'm driving under light throttle I can get up to about 7 psi before it starts acting up. When I accelerate any harder it starts acting up at 3 psi and up. When I say acting up I mean it acts as If it just dropped one of the four cyl. I have good compression, properly gapped plugs, and no boost leaks.

A pre turbo exhaust leak could casue those symptoms. Since you have found where it is leaking, i would replace it and test it out. Its only a few dollar gasket. Might as well replace the exhaust manifold gasket also while you are there for assurance.

It's probably ignition related. I would change the plugs and wires, and get metal gaskets for both ends of the manifold.

If it's a gasket leak put a new one in and make sure the surfaces aren't warped that way your not trying to seal something that is not even flat

What kinda afr's do you have goin into boost?

Plugs are new, wires are fairly new, and my afrs going into boost are 11.5:1 and going richer. I have to way of tuning so I know it's not my tune... Before this problem started I was boosting 14 psi on a b16g with water injection. I was thinking ignition too... How can I test the coils? I can't find any resistance specs.

What type of plugs and what gap? When you said that you checked for boost leaks, did you just look over it, or did you actually pressurize the system?

Just swap in a new metal gasket with some copper spray and blt it again. You know you have a leak, fix it. If problems still occur then investigate more. An exhaust leak is never a waste to fix.

Gasket on the way, NGk plugs on the way along with a new set of wires. Will let you know, I also have oem injector lower seals coming because I have on leaking a little and I don't trust the brown parts store o-rings.
