Manifold gaskets

So ever since I rebuilt my head a few weeks ago, I get a strong exhaust gas smell under full boost. Only when I really get on it. I used the gaskets out of my $50 head gasket set, so they aren't the best I'm sure, (you know, that kind or silver covered paper gasket you normally see). I've verified the manifold/turbo bolts are tight. But I'm thinking I probably need to go with a metal layered gasket at the head and turbo flange. Does that sound right? Like one of the gaskets probably blew out already. I never had this smell before and the only part of the exhaust disturbed was the manifold, so I'm pretty sure it's one for those two gaskets.

However I did see a thread recently on the crush washers for the turbo flange. I reused my turbo flange bolts/washers, but they are torqued down real tight and I dont see anything concerning there. But could this be the reason for the leak? It only happens when I'm really pushing it, so it's not really escaping until then. Impossible to be under the hood to listen for it since the car needs to be fully loaded under boost to have it happen and I dont see any exhaust burn marks coming out of anything.

In my search I've come across a 4-ply metal gasket. Would this be a way to get a good strong seal?
