Making a Vacuum pump system

I apologize, I'm just trying to help. But seriously I'd suggest purchasing a factory manual either hard bound or on CD (I have both) and research the information. Even purchace a general mechanics book will help explain certian systems, such as the pcv system.

There isn't anything wrong with using a metered vacuum pump on a crankcase. After all, this is what the scavenge pumps on a dry sump do.

Make sure your metered air is filtered otherwise you're pulling dirty air right into your crankcase.

If you are road racing with a vacuum pump engine it would be a good idea to add an Accusump since if you really spin you can lose your oil pump prime and the vacuum pump will make it a bit harder to reestablish.

Overall it's a really good idea, but I cant do it at the moment. Little too much money to spend and figure everything out with college. Maybe someday i'll get back to it. What I ended up doing was hooking the pcv back up. Then off the valve cover I ran a hose down to a catch can. The top is sealed so the other end connects to my intake like stock. The part that works the best is the oil doesn't have a chance to make it back into the intake pipe like the stock set up and still provides vacuum. :rocks:
