Main fusible link issue

I've been checking fuses and found an issue with my main fusible link. The shop manual says that a 30 amp fuse goes into the second slot from the passenger side, but the blade spacing is too wide for a 30 amp fuse to fit. It will take a 60 amp fuse just fine. I've provided a picture of what I'm talking about. What gives?

I never used a 60 amp, ive wired my car enough to know and changed fuses.Make sure you use the right fuse.

Previous owner had a 60 amp there. I caught it today and pulled it to replace it with the proper fuse but it won't fit. The terminals are too wide. Why isn't that particular provision the same as the others? You can clearly see the difference in the picture.

EDIT: I've added a picture of the fuses to illustrate my point.

In this picture you can see the difference between the lower amperage fuses and the higher amperage ones. The second plug from the top (it has its blades pulled) will not accept the lower amperage fuses. The higher amperage fuses are wide enough to fit the blade spacing.
