I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a 4g63t engine in it. I put an after market computer in it that requires a 1g CAS. I put that in it and all was well. Then while cleaning up the wiring and shrink wrapping thinks. I accidently touched the blue with a red stripe wire from the CAS to ground. This is the signal wire for the CAS. I heard a fuse pop but I can't find it. I believe I may have shorted out a fusible link. From the wiring diagram I have the hot wire to the CAS, which is no longer hot, connects to most all the sensors and then runs to the MFI relay. I can't find a blown fuse, so I think I blew a fusible link. Where can I find this link? The book says there are alot of fusible links near the battery. I can't find any.

Thanks

Karl

The 20 Amp engine fuse if fine, but still power to this thing.

The dealership said I fried the ECU. Are these computers really that delicate? Are they internally fused? The aftermarket computer I built that runs everything expcept the idle air control and a few other simple things can take a short like that and not be hurt.

Yes, the ECUs are that delicate. More than likely you have fried the ground circuit of the ECU. I had to send my ECU back to DSMlink to have them re-soder the track. BTW, where abouts in H-town are you?

Should be the 20A blue fuse in the engine fusebox labeled "Engine". Of course if the MPI relay doesn't work you won't get any power anyway.
Hey so I know this is a very old post but I did the exact same thing this guy did, I heard something pop, and now I’m not getting any power to my starter or the MFI plug. I hear my fuel pump spinning but nothing else. I’ve been reading to check Fusible Link 4 but I don’t even know what that means.

Would love absolutely any help or response, thanks again!
