MAFT v2.01 w/ 3'' GM-MAF

880cc injectors

I'm having some trouble WOT tuning. I have the AUX at 2, base at 6 (off the sheet), and basically, if I put any setting to make it run rich, the car hits fuel cut at around 5k RPM. If I start setting it lean, it will cut around 7.5k which is where it should be, but I will get crazy amounts of knock. So right now I have the setting at -10% lean, which gives me minimal knock, but it cuts around 6.5k RPM. My O2 voltage is at about .89. I know I have huge injectors for a single piggyback device, but it's what I'll have to deal with for now.
 
Your injectors are too big. Maft can only compensate for 650s max, if you get a safc with the maft you can tune for the 880s.
 
What are you logging with? are you running a wideband?


Those injectors seem like they are overkill for your setup. I am only running 550's and am running 18 psi with good afr's. on a 14b with an EVO fuel pump.
 
Same here minus the Evo pump.^(255) wouldn't u also need an afpr with injectors that big?
Just remembered isn't it backwards? Maft one the charts should hold 1000cc injectors? Sure it would very unlikely recommended but should work. Safc, no more than 550/650 is what I've read on here. But the maft manual has adjustments for that size I believe so.
 
hey guys,

I ended up getting a chip to help compensate for the injectors. Still a pain in the ass to tune, but it's a lot better. I'm sure I could of gotten it to work, but the way it was going, the MAF-T was tuned at nearly 150cc's less (had it around 700-730cc) to get it to run decent. After understanding the MAF-T a little bit better, I'm thinking I actually went the wrong way, and I should of had it set for larger than 880cc injectors to lean out the fuel curve. Oh well, the EPROM is solving most of my problems with extra added benefits. Before the chip, the long term trims would constantly sweep rich then lean... And it gave me like 12mpg haha
 
i have my 450's tuned to 550's. i guess every car is different but i got my fuel trims almost near 100% all the way.
