in my opinion the maft SUCKS. no matter what i do im always running rich. i do like the sound of my bov but im gonna give it up to switch back to safc and 2g mass.

Why is this in tuning and engine management??

A GM MAF/MAFT combo does more than allow you to vent. It removes a restriction before the turbo (the stock MAS). Depending on your power goals, you could upgrade to a 2G MAS or get the GM unit. There is nothing wrong with venting, as long as it is done properly with a MAFT.

With 550cc injectors and the MAF/MAFT combo, you'll be fine. If you have 660cc injectors and GM/MAFT, GOOD LUCK trying to get your tuning and idle right (you'll need a SAFC too).

If you plan on getting a new logger, SAFC and MAFT, look at www.ecuplus.com. It has all 3 in one unit.

dnhieu - Set your MAFT to stock injectors, turn everything to 0 and tune with the SAFC. That way you can keep your MAF/MAFT combo and tune with the SAFC.

the problem isnt with the tuning its with the gm mass. every day i have to retune my car. i go to bed every night with a good tune and every morning my fuel trims are all outta wack again. i thinkt he humity down south messes with the gm sensor...

also if i set everything to 0 on the MAFT its gonna make tuning worse because ill have to compensate for 650cc injectors with just a SAFC.

thanks

Running 650ccs with SAFC is a lot better for tuning and idle instead of running it with the MAFT alone.
