MAF Sensor question

Ive been looking and looking but havent found anyone posting anything about using a GM MAF sensor. i know its been done and widley used but im looking for some information on why. from what i understand the stock MAF becomes a choking point? just wanted to figure out why. Thanks

Basically, the stock MAF was designed to operate within a certain frequency range. For example, the stock 2g unhacked MAF can measure up to 2700hz, which corresponds to 50 lbs/min (roughly, 450-500hp). When you exceed the maximum frequency, the output signal of the sensor becomes erratic. Eratic input to the ECU = bad, especially when that input is used for A/F calculations.
