Does anyone know what you can machine the heads down to and still have good clearance with the valves and pistons.

Mine got shaved down .012 put back on with a Cometic head gasket and i hear a metallic sound and i cant tell where, i just want to make sure im cool on this aspect.

There are a lot of variables that determine piston to valve clearance, the only way to know for sure is to use clay and measure the distance.

2nd that. But with hydraulic lifters this can still give you a incorrect measurement. A metallic sound can be caused by a ton of different things.

should i drive on it i guess is my question...and it only does at above a certain rpm, and my car isnt a normal hp motor got a tad more and i really really dont feel like tearing it back down

feel free to get a laugh out of me...the support that bolts on the intake manifold and runs down to the block, i hadnt put a bolt back in there and it was it vibrating when it was reving.

now i have another problem so things are goin swell.

Better fix than tearing down the motor, I suppose.
