Well, I was wondering the best way to wire the lights on my M3 mirrors, they are manual but I want to wire the signals. Should they be wired only to the turn signals, or to the sidemarker running lights as well?
thanks a lot

Depends partly on how they're made to be wired, if they have two circuits for running and signal lighting. Make sure they're not blue LEDs, the coppers don't like the competition.
I'd only run them as turn signals. Running lights out there look like a damned tuna boat or something.

I just want someone to explain to me how the morons in the personnel carriers... er, SUVS can drive ten miles down the road with the arrow in their mirror flashing away.

When you're that big, you don't have to worry about common courtesy things like checking mirrors before merging.

If it blinks on your car when you use the turn signal, you can splice into the wiring for the mirrors. I would just use the turn signal wiring. If you use a running light, the LEDs wil be light whenever you turn on your lights.

Well my stock mirrors were stock as well, so there is no wiring there. I was just wondering th best way to tap into the turn signals then, thanks

The best way to do this is to run wires from the mirrors through the door, door boot and into the car. You can catch the turn signal wires behind your radio. I just did one Monday(gsx). The wires will be in a plug going to a black relay box to your right. You can check by turning the turn signals on and putting your hand on the box to feel it clicking with the lights. The gray/red and gray/blue are the wires you will want. They will be the only 2 in there that color. All the other wires were green and another color. The door will be a pain in the a-- when you realize there are molex plugs in them on the car side. You will just need to drill a small hole to push the wire through. Getting the drill in there or a screwdriver to get the screws out(you'll see when you look from inside the car) is the hard part.

How big are those mirrors???

I was thinking about picking myself up some off Ebay since they are about half the price of regular mirrors, but I was afraid about the size.....
