Drove the car just yesterday with no problems. Today (after a particularly cold and misty night) I am driving to class, and the first time I get over 2.5k rpms (normal road driving, Im not pushing it at all), my GSX begins to lurch. Damn, boost leak I think to myself. I shift into 2nd and it does it again, big surprise. I drive it slow the rest of the way to campus (<1/4 of a mile) and am able to get it above 4k rpms as long as I dont let the turbo spool. However, as I pull into the parking lot, my car throws an CEL. Humm, Ive had a boost leak before, but it didnt produce a CEL. I go to class, come back out, and start up the car, no problem. I slowly drive through the lot, again getting above 4k rpms with no lurch. I get back on the road heading to my apartment, and this time I am ready for the lurching. Sure enough, normal city driving produces the lurch just above 2.5k rpms. However, the CEL didnt come on this trip, so Im not entirely sure what is going on here. Any insight, perhaps from someone who has experienced similar symptoms?

You should go to an autoparts store, get a code reader and see check to see what code your car is throwing. They will do it for free. Then comeback here and post it up.

Maybe moisture in the spark plug wells, its a known problem with some aftermarket plug wires and/or old worn out wires. Just an idea. Would cause missing and the hesitation you describe, but only under a load usually.

Cars store codes, make your own code reader. Look for it, I'm not in the mood to spoon feed it to you today. Make a boost leak tester. It's really easy, you can make it from parts at home depot, find a buddy with an air compressor, then you'll know if you have a boost leak or not.
