The LS6 will NOT work with this unit. I would use the 3.5" LS1 from a 97-99 F-Body. I have guys in the 9's with those no problem

what about the 99-2k1 mas air?
is there a significant difference between these?
i have access to a couple 99-2k1 mas airs.

Mike

Whats the ETA on when the 2G unit will be available without having to splice it in, just using a connector?

Mike I know it should be perty strait fwd as to the wire pinout of the unit. But for those going to mount it inside the cockpit for easy adjustabilty is there any problems with extending the lenth of the harness? by my mesurements my harness will be about 6ft going to the GM mas. I see no problem in this. Just wondering if i am missing somthing were you might see a problem? Thanks

There could be RF probelms if you get the harness to close to another harness, elecrtic motor, injectors are VERY bad, alternator, that sort of thing. A simple reroute of the harness will fix that though.

Ahh ok. I can sheild it then just to make sure. Thanks. Forgot about posible inductance. ;)

so i take it from the lack of response there is not a differenc between the 99-2001 ls1 mas airs?

is my assumption correct?

Mike,
When do you plan on putting up the FAQ on the website? I would like to read up on the tuning procedure before I buy.

from earlier on in the thread

What filter are you guys planning on using with the GM MAS?

I have not looked at one yet, does it need a 3" cone filter?

Just got through reading all 12 pages and all i can say is WOW, this is certianly very exciting news for DSMs. I was planing on doing 550 injectors with a AFC, but now I can just get the 550s and tune them with the translator for the same price, plus have much better air flow. :D

Compatible MAS's
1997-2000 LS1 uses a 3.5" MAS
1994-1996 Impala SS uses a 3" MAS

So could prol use a 3" Cone for either.

the logical solution would be 3" for the 3" sensor, or 3.5" for the 3.5" sensor. either one can be bought from places like jegs and summit.

I've been doing a lot of product testing on my dyno (cams, turbo's ect.) and I'll like to check this thing out. Care to have me do a before/after test keeping everything else the same (even tuning to keep A/F the same). I have shop cars with 16g's or T3/T4's available.
