First off I've searched all over the forum and google. I can't find anything on lowering the hight of the stock seat in a 2G. I see some on aftermarket seats but nothing about stock.

I'm 6'2. I have some minor back problems from a street bike crash. Leg room is not an issue for me, but I'm literally hurting my back because I have to tilt my head over to not hit the roof unless I lean my seat way back, which is probably worst for posture. I do have a sunroof which I think hurts head room a little more.

Is there any way at all to lower the sitting position? Anything would help but an extra 2-3" would be ideal. I'm good at fabricating and have a machine shop I could make custom brackets at.

Thanks for any help. These ### cars aren't made for people over 5'9. I had a BMW 335i and those Germans do it right man, I had at least 4" above my head and room on all sides it was amazing how they make so much room in a 2 door coupe.

I've always wondered about this too, I'm 6'1" but I dont really have any issues, but then again I don't have a sunroof.

I'm sure someone has done something, maybe difference seats come with lower brackets?

Just curious, do you have leather or cloth seats? Reason I ask, the orig owner of my car custom ordered it with cloth. I myself am 6'4" and have to lean forward in order to see the stop light turn green while driving around town. Now, my buddy has a 97 gst spider with factory option leather and I sit noticably lower in his car when taking it for a test spin. So now i'm on the hunt for some factory leather seats. Anyone else notice this difference between the factory cloth and leather seats?

yeah i kind of noticed that. my friend has a 95 gs with cloth seats and i have 99 gs with leather seats. my car definitely has a lower seat and more headroom for me. also for my car, theres like a circular button/handle on the left to turn to bring down the seat down a bit :thumb:

This car is leather. I have a 95 Talon tsi in the garage for parts and it has cloth. You're right though, the cloth is noticably higher it's amazing, I'm glad I don't have those! Every other car I've had, the leather seats always sit
higher than cloth (when i compare 2)
