so when they are worn the kinda pop when you go up say a driveway turning correct?
Both of the lower control arms (lateral and compression) have their own ball joint. The one that failed in this case was the lateral arm.
My suspension clunks when I go over bumps. Idk if it's the ball joints or just a beat high mileage suspension.
Maybe I have my names confused here. I thought the "lateral arm" is the straight lower control arm (the one that has the ball joint that failed on you) and the "compression arm" is the curved lower control arm.

Yea, I believe this was the brazilian dsmer that it happened to. I've always seen this and laughed and now look at my POS.

Does it normally take out the fender when it fails?
No damage to the fender though.Since this is a recall do they have to pay for any and all damages?
A few more months bitching and they cut a check for all out of pocket expenses. No, thats actually my dsm.

Can you just go to your local Mitsu dealer and ask if your car has had the lower ball joint recall done or what? Do they look up your VIN or jack up the car or what?
And one more time- How can you tell if your ball joints are bad? Push the wheel towards the inside of the car and pull the wheel away from the car, and if you can do this then your ball joints are shot?
I'm a little paranoid if you can't tell.

the upper control arms are what creak like that, not sure what happens when they let go but Im sure it isnt good either
A good way to test the LCA's is to just jack it up, grab each one and just jerk it around, maybe use a prybar to check for play in them. They all should be solid.

Yea, I wish I had a 2gb with no rust.
