I'm changing a rear top mount strut plate and all is going just skippy until I go to remove the strut. It will not come off the lower mount and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. Anyone ever run into this and have any ideas???

Which mount bolt are you having problems with? The top or the bottom? If it's just the lower one that bolt to the lower control arm use some PB blaster and let it sit over night. Then use a breaker bar and put some ass into it. If it's the fork/sleeve that the strut slides into then soak it over night with PB blaster, loosen/take the bolt all the way out then stick the largest tipped flat head screw driver in the gap and twist to open it up a bit so you can twist the fork/strut apart.

if the bolt is out, then a pry bar?

Bolt came out no problem. The rubber grommet won't release from the shaft it's on. I think I may be able to get around the problem completely by removing the shaft it's stuck to on the bottom of the upper control arm.

My problem is at the rear strut. Thanks though.......
