I got a new turbo and wanted to install it and feed it from the head. Thank god, I decided to measure the oil pressure first. At the port, where the stock like turbos are fed/14B;16G 20G;/ I am getting 10PSI at cold start. Couldn't let the car warm up, because I removed the turbo and was running it just like that-like NA/I CAN do that-have speed density system/.

Now onto the motor. It is new-5-6K motor. Extremely strong, good compression. No BS and for the oil squrters, I do not remember, if I have them, or not. The OFH hole isn't ported and the pressure from OFH is solid:
80-90PSI-cold start, 15-17PSI idle-fully warm, 60 PSI at around 3K cruising and 100+PSI at the redline8300RPM.

Head is built/not ported/ 1mm OS ss valves; 3G lifters BC280's; BC springs, retainers; new seals, etc. Runs awesome. I DO NOT have, or hear any unusual mechanical noises, more, than any other DSM motor. Don't have any knock also.

The only thing, that I can think of is the distribution block. I replaced the cams and springs like 2K miles ago, everything was mint inside. Everything looked good. I have only heard ONCE in the last 7-8 years about BAD DISTRIBUTION block. Just wondering, why the oil pressure at the head port is so low???
Anyone had similar problem???

Serious answers only, please; People with first hand experience...
Thanks for your time, Andy.:confused::confused::confused:

I have my Oil pressure sender tapped in that port on the front of the head. I see 50psi on cold starts and then it holds a constant 25psi after everything is at OT.

Try and replace the distribution block and see what that does.

I agree, that is what I would be looking at. Pull the valve cover off and inspect the gasket and clean out the distribution block passages and re-check the oil pressure. Otherwise, replace with equivilant part.

I am not going to do it, since my motor is together and I am not going to pull the head off. But I thahk you very much for the usefull info. I would try it in the future, whenever the head comes off. Right now everything is mint, so I am not going to touch it.

Hello, I posted that link when I was on under a buds SN, I was still a noob and not allowed to post in the "big boy" fourms.

I have found out some more info that may intrest you.

Race 850

This deals with the size of the boilt hole and the size of the ARP head stud,and the oil clearance around it.
I have submitted this info to the Tech fourm also, Just waiting on getting it approved.

I understand that you do not want to pull the head. This is just something for you to check, if the time comes if you ever do.
