I am not 100% sure whats going on but I installed a Cat-Back system from eBay I have replace the front O2 sensor and clean the throttle body and the idle air control sensor and still having this problem the car does not die it just idles really low and fumbles feels like it is going to die but does not. It stays around or under a thousand RPMs at idle and when I'm at a complete stop here is a video of what I am talking about hopefully this helps my situation one of the bolts for the exhaust manifold is stripped a little bit but it is the only one that is stripped could that be the problem ? This is on a 98 eclipse it's not throwing any codes and no check engine light

Hmmm...my GST idles at about 750rpm and just purrs. Have you done a basic tune up? My car had a little stumble at about 4000rpm when I bought it so I replaced the plugs, wires and air filter and now it runs like a top. Maybe try the plugs, wires and air filter first, then if that doesn't help try the coil / coils and maybe the fuel filter.

I have not I know this 420a needs a lot of work like I need my cam gear seal needs to be replaced because I know one is leaking oil going behind the timeing belt cover and than down. Also I think my valve cover is leaking because when I took my air intake hose off I see oil in the same place as the intake cam is located but on the other side. You think any of this has somthing to do with it other than the One tripped bolts on the exhaust manifold?

It's quite possible it does, especially if one or more of your spark plugs is causing a delay in the firing sequence, a tune up should be done anyway, just to eliminate all of the easy things first.

Ok sure thing I have had this car for about two years or so now and I replaced just the fuel filter and pump, spark plugs and a oil change with New oil filter, flushed break lines with new clean stuff, new break pads, ect so I guess it would be time for one. I'm tight on money tight now but I'll make a list of things I'll need and plane ahead

Idles better than mine. Mine has been surging lately from 500-750ish. The Batt volts on my turbo timer drop to like 12.2 and the car vibrates
That was only at the time maybe cleaning all this helped a lil but it would idles a lil less than it did the next day when I drive it to work. Lil yes I made the vid while I was at work so I couldn't rec everything I wanted but I thought the vid I had got my point across LOL in the book for my car it says it should idle at 700 rpm but I'm still trying to learn how to property read a rpm meater

I was thinking it doesn't sound too bad when I watched it either, until you revved it and then when the rpm's dropped it started dieseling a little.:D I would say if you get all the maintenance done on it and it still does it you may want to check for a vacuum leak, though I don't think it's that as you don't have a CEL.

Fast question is it possible to get a head gasket set and install everything while the car is still in? I know it prob best to take it out because it will be easyer that way but I don't have a garage or a cherry picker So I was hoping if it was possible. And also I'm not 100% sure what a tune up would be include. I'm new to this kind of things and don't know much about cars but have learned a lot over the last two years of me driving and fixing things on mine and wife's cars. I do have the book for both cars so I know it's going to be done right and there's also the web for how tos. Anyways would anyone give me a list of things I should replace or do ect to get me started that would be great :) thanks
