I was wondering if anyone ran into a problem of low boost in first gear. I can get the turbo spooled up to about 3,000 and then jump on it. It will only make about 14 psi or so all the way to redline. When i hit second I will get about 20, right were the AFC-R is set to,And through 3,4,5 it holds right at 20 psi. I checked all the piping for leaks and it was all good. I also thought the clutch was slipping from the torque so I installed a ACT 2600 lb clutch and lightened flywheel. The problem still exists after the clutch was broke in. I even checked the BOV and that was not leaking. I am just so stumpped. Anyone have any input?? Thanks, Joe

Yeh. In your attempts to blow up the engine, you're getting the pistons out of the way of the incoming air faster than the turbo can pump it out to produce boost.

Don't try to boost in first. It comes on too quickly. Save it for second.

Your numbers are about normal.

i had a very simular problem goin on, well i recently pulled my turbo and the exh side houseing was completly trashed, if u want i can send u a vid of it send me a email [email protected] if u want it. but that could be your problem,

i would only hit 10 in first then every other gear a perfect 16. im bettin that was my problem

Thank for the reply I have a new 16G installed with only like 1000 miles on it. I checked the intake and exhaust housings about a week ago. Both looked good. I think that the car should have no problem making 18psi in first gear. The wideband O2 says that i am running rich all the way up even at like 20psi. I have rode in other GSX's that will make 18psi right through the gears so i know that is not the problem. I am just out of ideas!! Joe
