my car was making a noise and thought maybe it was the throwout bearing, so i changed it. while i was there i noticed my street disc was bad (springs were about to pop out) so i installed a 6 puck disc to go with the act2600. even changed the flywheel to a fidanza. it's still making the noise and it's REALLY loud and annoying of course. it goes away ONLY when i press in the clutch. any ideas?

couldn't be clutch chatter could it? cause i'd think that would happen during engagement/disengagement right? i had a disengagement problem and if i started it in neutral it wouldn't make the noise. but now that it's fixed, it's making the noise once again (in neutral, driving it and in gear, whatever.....just not when the clutch is in). same noise that it made with the street disc.

what could it be?!?!?!? any ideas? any info appreciated. it's WAAAY louder than my car is with the full 3 inch atr exhaust.

okay i've been thinkin about how the internals of the tranny work, the clutch, throwout bearing, etc. etc. even if it's in neutral, the tranny is gonna be spinning on the inside. at least until the clutch is disengaged. and the only time it's not making any noise is when the clutch is disengaged which means the inside of the tranny isn't spinning. so it has to be the tranny, not the clutch.

okay, so i was thinkin about it and remembered i put 80/90w in there. think it was suppose to be something else but i forget (i had to walk to a store to get the crap anyway and that's all they had so just had to deal with it anyway). is that gear oil thinner than what's suppose to be in our cars? anyone know of a good place to get some bg fluid or something else that's good? walmart or something? i can't wait around for some bg to get shipped to me. i need the stuff now. uggghhh!!!! just hopin i haven't caused any damage or anything cause it's pretty freakin loud.

also, what weight is suppose to go in there cause i can't remember. and what's good that i can look for that's sold out there on the shelf? thanks again!

Hmmm, you changed the TO bearing, clutch and flywheel?

This is weird, are you sure you torqued everything to spec? Loose flywheel bolts can cause that. What does your tranny fluid and casing look like? Any metal shards or silver coloring?

get some bg synchro shift man. i put 40w oil in my tranny and it didnt like it at alll.i cant even imagine what yours sounds liek with that road tar in it. haha. made the same noises your talkin about. if u cant get synchro shift just get 30w full synthetic oil for it. i bet it helps. :thumb:

k thanks guys. nah, it was never run dry that i know of. i just had some gear oil in it which was suppose to be the correct weight (just forget what it's suppose to be though) and it didn't make any noise. this was when i put in the new clutch disc and flywheel but i had the disengagement problem. had to pull the tranny again though and when i put it back in, i threw in the 90 weight. and now it's makin noise. guess that's probably it. and just outta curiousity, has anyone tried royal purple? they make full synthetic for gear oil?!?!? guess that would be pretty dang good wouldn't it? anyway, thanks for the info guys. laters!
