First of the car is a 1997 Eclipse RS. Lately, when i start the car up there is a loud noise coming from the timing side of the motor. The noise is there at low rpm's and at idle. But when i actually drive the car it goes away(usually at about 2500 rpms). It seems to be running a little sluggish but nothing horrible. My questions are what could that noise be. Could the belt have skipped a few teeth? Timing tensioner going bad?
