ok, this stupid noise has been goin on now for a while and im bout to go crazy, in the mornings when i start the car it does it, during the day after car sits for a while it does it, and it does it at night like almost whole time, usually its just a squeek or 2 during day and morning right when i start it then goes away, but sumtimes during day it wont go away unless i let it idle for a while or just drive with it squeeking till it stops and at night like non-stop.

I think it has something to do with my power steering, i've had 2 new alternators put on(for different reasons) and it has still done it, replaced the power steering/AC/Alt bets along with timing/balance shaft belts.

The higher i rev the louder it will get or go away after a while, when i move my steering wheel back and forth it will stop it for a sec then keeping going, sometimes it will just squeek while idleing, if im driving and slow down to take a turn it does it while im turning then stops, if i come to a stop sign or light and then take off again it will start back up.

power steering pump isnt leaking or anything so i dunno if it would be that, all the belts seem to be the right tightness but dunno exactly how loose/tight each one should be, dunno if a pulley is bad or going bad or not, but the sound is deff coming right around that alt/power steering area. And my last PS belt was like shredded, after the noise first started the belt was like flaking off everywhere inside engine and creating a nast goopy build up underneath it so another reason why i think its related to that but i took it to like 2 diff places and they were just like blahh blahh its ## air compressor which i never even have on and other one was just like well everything looks fine and were no help at all =( so if anyone else has any suggestions or had a similar problem all info be helpfull thanks.

Hey, just did the soap test on all the belts, and it helped none, noise still same, didnt do any tightening or anything yet, gonna try that tomorrow and see wut happens

there's a possiblity it's too tight as well. That can cause the powersteering belt to squeel as well and possibly shred to pieces like you mentioned. adjust until it goes away.

Sounds like your belts are just worn. I had a similar issue...usually after my car was nice and warm they would stop. It was even worse after a hard rain or with high humidity. I just replaced mine yesterday due to squeeking and it solved the problem.

I have had my alternator brackets actually become detached in another DSM and had to have it rewelded; that cause squeeking along with loss of power.
