i just put in a new transmission into my 90 talon and have had nothing but problems. finally i get the tranny in which is from a 92 i believe and when i put the axles in there really loose and dont hold like there supposed to. they are pushed all the way in but somethings wrong. are there different axles for different years? what could be the problem?

No there isnt. Is the retainer ring still on the tranny end? Sometimes its best to load it in the hub first, then the tranny, and use the hub assembly to jam it in the tranny (good hefty shove). It wont hurt the tranny or the axle, but will create more straight force than you can with your hands. This should seat the axle past the retainer clip into the diff.

k the holder for the axle is deff bigger than the stock tranny that was in my car. i can put the axle in the old one and it fits fine. then i put it in the new one and its loose and doesnt hold. they have the same tranny code so i know its a turbo. could it be a 2g tranny? are the axles different on them?

alright problem solved! regardless of the auto parts store codes or whatever the 93 and 94 axles are a bit bigger than the 90-92. so the transmission must be from a 93 or 94. so i just have to get the newer axles.
