Get ready because I have alot to explain so you guys could understand the situation im in. LOL

I have a 95 Talon AWD TSI :thumb: . About a month ago while driving it my passanger side balljoint snapped causing my car to drive uncontrolably into the left lane. Thankfully no cars were coming and there happened to be police nearby. The police called a tow truck company who then came and towed my AWD car with the front wheels in the air. As you know this causes Vicious Coupling and frys the T-Case. :barf: But I wouldnt know if this was the case until I fixed my balljoint and axle. Im very busy going to college, working fulltime and maintaining my own house sooo I left the car in the hands of my boyfriend.

My boyfriend got the axle cheap as well as the balljoint and had a friend put the parts on for only $70 labor. Good Deal. While at work my bf called me and told me the car started and hes going to attempt to drive it home. Later in the day he told me that the car is really messed up from the balljoint incident and it is now misfireing really bad and leaking fluids. He basically stated the car is going to need alot of money as well as time to get it back to running in good shape.

A week has passed and he has replaced all the fluids in the car which includes: oil, and filter, motor flush, transfer case fluid, differntial fluid, and transmission fluid. He suggested I sell him my 95 AWD Talon for $1000 and start looking for a new car while he works on it. I thought. This is a good idea. At least I have 1000 to find a new car quickly since my car isnt driveable. Well last night. We got into an argument and I went into the garage to take a look at my car. I looked under the car and to my surprise there wasnt ANY fluids leaking. (Thats Weird) Did he fix it and not tell me? Then I seen the key in the ignition and figured Id start it up. So I can see for myself all this smoke hes been claimign was coming from the exhaust as well as hear the misfires. It started up beautifully.. Hmmm? Mind you, I missed class this day because i didnt have aride and sat on campus for 2 hours because I didnt have a ride home. (Campus is about 4 miles from my place)

SO I call my stepfather up to come take a look at my car. My stepfather comes and starts it up and tells me hes gonna take it around the block. This gives me a chance to see it smoking or listen for misfires. As my stepfather drives away I hear him FLOORING THE GAS!! Im panicking.. IS HE CRAZY? HEs gonna blow upmy motor!! So as I anxiously await for him to come back he pulls up and tells me my car is perfectly fine. WTF

Alright, so ive been going weeks bumming rides here and there, shelling out gas money to friends, going into work late, missing classes, and struggling to make it to the store and laundromat and my car is sitten in my car in perfect running condition. NO WAY. So this mornign I drop it off at a shop and tell them to THOROUGHLY look through my car. My boyfriend of two years wouldnt have done this to get my car off me for $1000.

The shop tells me its leaking some oil form the T-case. No biggie and it needs tome brake fluid.

Im now hurt, and confused. Mycar FEELS like it drives better than ever. The garage said it looked fine. Is there anything that may be wrong that you cant tell from driving or looking at it? I just dont understand why my bf would lie to me. Is it possible that the tow truck may have ruined something that we cant see or feel when driving the car? My now Ex-bfs statement to all this is that the shop is an idiot and I better hope when driving it my tranny doesnt lock up while driving it on the highway. Is this possible?

Thanks for the help. And as u can tell im a gurl and rather than jumping to the point i go through all the details. (I guess Im sort of venting also)

you might wantot have teh dealer check for the lower arm replacement which is a recall no charge item, and the tcase which is a no cost item, and drive it till it breaks. Your vc is probably shot to heck though unless they put those roller wheels under the back and then pulled from the front

I had the lower control arm replaced when the axle and balljoint were replaced. Also how would I know if the VC is shot? and is it harmful for me to drive the car like that? I know they didnt put the roller wheels under the back. When I brought it to the tow companies attention that they probably ruined my car their reply was that they went under 25 mph so it would be fine. I know its bs. but if i can prove my VC is shot then I can take them up on the repairs. I just dont know how to tell..

beats me, I always specify a rollback when my car gets towed.

I don't know why your boyfriend did all that stuff because I don't know anyone in the situation but I don't think your tranny will lock up. obviously if the t-case is leaking fluid and it goes dry then something is going to break, but just make sure to check to see if its leaking and as long as its not leaking and there is fluid in it, no reason it shouldn't last...

you should give him the 1000 bucks back and take the car, even a broken down 2g is worth more than a 1000 bucks...

Thanks for the posts. As far as the tow truck, i did request a flatbed but the "professional" inisisted my car would be able to go onto the truck with 2 wheels on the ground. I didnt realize the damages until I got home and researched on here. Asfar as my bf, thankfully i started up the car before I sold it to him.

The t-case is leaking oil but not enough to hit the ground. It must just be leaking around the seals. The guy at the garage told me it was no biggie just check on it frequently considering I drive 50miles to and fromwork a week.

go get more T-Case fluid from the store for a couple bucks and then go to the mall and buy a really nice outfit and look for a new B/F. ROFL
