So, onto the next round of why this car was a bad idea.
Driving home from work, cruising at around 2,000 rpm, just taking it easy. Heard a sound that sounded a lot like a lightbulb going out. Kind of a "pff", but very quiet.
Didn't think anything of it for a few seconds, until I realized that the car wasn't responding to pressure on the gas pedal. And the rpm were gradually decreasing.
First thought was that the transmission had gone, so I took it from Drive, to 3rd. That changed the rpm slightly, but still nothing when I attempted to accelerate.
Pulled the car over, stopped, and turned off. Tried to start up again, and nothing. Just a faster cranking sound.
Awesome, just awesome.
Had it towed to a shop, waiting today to see what the verdict is, but I can't imagine it being anything good.
Looks like I'll have to sell the damn thing. Just don't have the money to fix anything major on it right now.
