Its a service tech's car and I know its been taken care of but the thing is it has 160k on it, which are mostly highway but when do these engines start to go? How cheap is it to throw a new engine in it? Do you think its worth it, its a 98 and he wants 5500. Give me some advice!

a rebuild is a few hundred with you doin

my advice

find my old car in ft braggs omewhere nad buy it

like 80 k and you could get it for that price LOL

But honestly, for 180k, the turbos prolly about gone if not already, needs a rebuild, adn prolly a huge amonut of other normal maintenance such as belts, tune up items, bushings, motor mounts and other things that need replaced.....i wouldnt buy a high mileage car liek that for that much....just my 2 cents

what color was it? I bought one around fayetteville with 97k on it...green color

100k+ Miles...

Start watching for signs of crank walk.

5500 isn't that hot of a deal... 160k is alot for a 98...

I bought my 97 with under 40,000!!

I have a 98 GST that i just got. Has 54,000 miles. Paid 11ish for it. Its red. Might have to sell it cuz of a deployment. I'm in Fort Bliss. PM me.

All i wanted when i was car searching was a spyder gst. Ended up without the spyder, almost impossible to find for decent money. Of course i was willing to pay a little more, but not 12k+ etc. If there are other convertibles around you? If not, expect to pay a bit more.

In retrospect im glad i didnt get the convertible, as mine has enough maintenance issues to worry about without extra mechanical/cloth issues.
